Fears The Lord

Proverbs 9:10 tells us that the fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom. It seems strange this unpleasant emotion would be highlighted as the beginning of wisdom over the much more pleasing love of God we understand from verses like John 3:16. How do we hold these two verses next to each other? What does a healthy fear of the Lord look like in a believer? In an unbeliever? Can there be an unhealthy fear of the Lord? How does a proper understanding help us better engage the world around us for the gospel?
