Promise and Prophecy

Last week, we learned how everything was cursed because of humanity’s rebellion against God—the problem we all face. But this week, we see that God had a plan to rescue mankind. He made His intentions clear by delivering many proclamations, called prophecies, through men moved by the Holy Spirit, who wrote them down. Throughout the Old Testament, these prophecies promised that a Savior would come to rescue humanity.

Remarkably, God's promises came true, proving He is faithful and true to His word. These fulfilled promises teach us that God is trustworthy, that we can rely on His word (the Bible), and, most importantly, they give us real hope. This week, we will explore God’s faithfulness to His promises concerning the coming of the Messiah (the Savior), as well as other promises God has made. When we look to God’s promises, they produce steadfast hope within us.
