Paul Before Festus

Nov 12, 2024    Diane Clift

Paul endured great injustice, being falsely accused under false pretenses and imprisoned for more than two years. Yet, he demonstrated what it means to patiently endure under injustice, even in the face of suffering. Join us for session ten as we discover how we too can chose to glorify God through our trials.

Verses Used:

Acts 24:27

1 Peter 2:19-20

Acts 25:11

1 Timothy 6:6-8

Acts 26:24-29

Philippians 2:14-15

Discussion Questions:

How are we as believers called to act when we are treated unjustly, according to 1 Peter 2:19-20? Why is this difficult? Why should we do so?

What does 1 Timothy 6:6-8 say we are to be content with? How content are you with just these things?

In what area do you most struggle with contentment and why? How can you strive for contentment in that area?

Paul had learned the secret to being content long before he was imprisoned. Why does 2 Corinthians 12:7-10 say he was content in any circumstance?

Is there a time you felt weak or experienced trial and felt the power of God carry you through?

How did this time/season impact your relationship with him? How does it help you understand Paul’s words in these verses?

What are we called to avoid no matter what our circumstances are, according to Philippians 2:14-15? How well do you do at obeying this verse?
