The Plagues

Moses and Aaron are back with Pharaoh today, repeatedly telling him to let God’s people go. But over and over again, Pharaoh refuses. Each time, as a consequence, God sends a plague, and at first, it seems like Pharaoh will give in. But repeatedly, he changes his mind when God removes the plague and orders that the Israelites stay put. This happens nine times! Is God not powerful enough to change Pharaoh’s mind? This isn’t the case at all. Instead, He’s simply giving Pharaoh many opportunities to recognize God’s power and choose to repent. Our timeless truth: God wants everyone to repent.
