Does God Exist?

People will fight and defend whatever they are passionate about. Jude, a servant of Jesus Christ, wrote a bold charge to those who truly follow Jesus by saying, “Beloved, while I was making every effort to write you about our common salvation, I felt the necessity to write to you appealing that you contend earnestly for the faith which was once for all handed down to the saints.” We live in a world where there is a war on truth. Many have crept into the church with strange doctrines that are contrary to the gospel, and many in the world have distorted truth into something relative to each person. The reality is that absolute truth exists, is true for all people, and is found in God’s Word. Jude tells us to earnestly contend for the faith, meaning that the church has a responsibility to know truth and defend it with assertiveness and gentleness. This message, titled “Contend,” kicks off a new series where we aim to answer tough questions when truth is under attack. Tonight, we start with: Does God exist?
