Godly Spouse

Truth time…married life is hard. So often singles focus on future details for their wedding day, what type of house they want, where they may want to live and raise kids, but do we take the time to think of attributes that a Godly spouse is supposed to embody? Or how we can grow in our own walk to better serve our future spouse? Scripture has so much to say about the roles of husband & wife and there is no time like the present to start preparing. 

When looking for a future spouse, one thing you should strive for is someone “after God’s own heart”. His/her relationship with the Lord should be the first priority. Our vertical relationship with God is what fuels our  horizontal  relationships and is the only way we can truly love others. When our marriage is focused on Christ, that is the only way we can truly embody what it means to be a Godly spouse.
