The biblical role of a parent is to be a faithful steward of the children God has placed in their care. Parents have the responsilibility to care for the spiritual, emotional, and physical well-being of their children, in right order in our homes (God first, then our spouse, then our children). The most important bibilical duty of a parent is to train their children up in the ways of the Lord, teaching their children about salvation through Jesus Christ and modeling God’s love in word and in action. Your children belong to God. And you, as the parents, are their stewards. Raising children involves very deep emotions, especially as they grow older and want more independence, and we must let the Word of God guide us. When our children are grown and marry, we must let them go, and trust God to guide, care for and lead them.
