Surrendered to God: Series Intro
Together we will learn from God's Word that thriving marriages are not built on self-will, pride, or control, but instead on Jesus Christ and His example by daily choosing humility, mutual service, and complete dependence on God as we pursue His will above our own, modeling the gospel through grace, humility, servanthood, and obedience.
Verses:
Luke 22:42
Philippians 2:5-8

Discussion Questions:
Icebreaker: Have couples introduce themselves and tell how long they have been married/dating.
1. Read Luke 22:42. Even Jesus struggled with surrendering to the Father’s will before He went to the Cross. When do you find it most difficult to surrender to God?
2. How do we discern the will of God for our marriages? Where can we go to for wisdom on how to be a godly spouse?
3. Read Romans 12:1-2. We are to present our bodies as living sacrifices. We do not ask God to reveal His will before we decide whether we surrender to Him. Instead, we surrender saying, “Whatever Your will is, I will follow.” Do you have any examples you could share where you’re trusted God and had to “walk by faith and not by sight?”
4. If you are not sure what God’s will is for a particular season or decision, He welcomes us to go to Him in prayer. (Psalm 143:10, Psalm 25:4-5, Psalm 27:11, Psalm 86:11)
