Walk it out

Paul lived an eventful life dedicated to the mission that God had entrusted to him. He understood that Jesus was sent to give mankind eternal life and purpose and that Jesus had sent him to proclaim this message to everyone he encountered while also mentoring the next generation to carry the mission forward. Paul recognized the importance of raising up younger believers and faithfully carried out this responsibility by coming alongside them. One of these young individuals was Timothy.

Being young can be intimidating, and some may feel they are not old enough to be used or trusted with the purpose God has for them. This couldn't be further from the truth, as Timothy was very young yet was used powerfully. Paul instructed Timothy not to let anyone look down on him because of his youth but to focus on Jesus and fulfill the ministry God entrusted to him.

This week, as we near the end of the "Sent" series, we will examine the final charge Paul gives to his young protégé before his life ends. We will learn that this letter is just as relevant today as it was to Timothy then. Just as Paul was sent, Timothy was sent, and the same is true for all who profess Jesus as Lord.
