Many religions and individuals around the world have questioned the belief that Jesus was fully God. When the gospel spread to the people in Colossae, the church faced false teachings claiming that Jesus was not divine. Although Paul never visited this church, he heard about these erroneous beliefs and addressed the congregation to affirm the deity of Christ. Followers of Jesus need to uphold the doctrine that He was both fully God and fully human. Understanding that Jesus is central to everything—from creation to redemption—brings us immense peace, knowing He is in control. This assurance empowers Christians to live freely.
