Sword of the Spirit

When it comes to combating the schemes of our flesh, the world, and the enemy, we have learned that putting on God's armor as our defense is paramount. While the armor defends against the flaming darts of evil, God has given us the most powerful offensive weapon to fight with. When Jesus was taken into the wilderness to be tempted by the devil, we see Him resist and combat him using the Word of God, and after using truth, the enemy departed until a more opportune time. This week we learn that God's Word is alive and active, sharper than any two-edged sword; if the Holy Spirit is going to use that weapon when we are attacked, we need to know the Word and write it on the tablet of our hearts.
