Peace Sneakers

Some may think the gospel is redundant or only worth focusing on occasionally. However, when it comes to standing firm against the enemy and navigating life, we discover that the gospel is something we should wear at all times. In Roman times, soldiers would march for miles and prepare for battle with specially designed shoes to help them hold their ground. Similarly, in the armor of God, we are instructed to put on the shoes of the gospel of peace—this means the gospel provides both our defensive footing and the foundation for taking the message to those around us.

This week, we’re learning that the shoes of peace are to be worn always. The message of the gospel is the Christian’s foundation for standing strong against the enemy’s attacks and for advancing to share hope with others. Let’s step confidently, knowing our footing is secure in the gospel of peace.
