Sunday Morning Devotion

“Therefore everyone who hears these words of mine and puts them into practice is like a wise man who built his house on the rock. The rain came down, the streams rose, and the winds blew and beat against that house; yet it did not fall, because it had its foundation on the rock. But everyone who hears these words of mine and does not put them into practice is like a foolish man who built his house on sand. The rain came down, the streams rose, and the winds blew and beat against that house, and it fell with a great crash.”
Matthew 7:24-27

The stability of a building depends upon the foundation. Jesus is the solid Rock on which we build our lives and marriages. Husbands and wives who put their trust in Christ and continually apply Biblical truths in their lives are like the house built on a rock solid foundation. Though the rains will come, the waters will rise, and the winds will blow, these marriages will stand. They will not only survive, but will thrive. Not only can we rejoice in Jesus Christ being our firm foundation, we can trust that the structure is well built and will stand.

May we continually build our marriages on the Rock that is Christ. Pray for your spouse to receive all that God has for them today.
