Anchored in the Storms

WEEK NINE 11/6/25 Topic: “Anchored in the Storms”

Passages: Proverbs 10:25, 14: 32, 1:7, 9:10, 3:7-8, 5:21,31:30, chap. 14

Description: Every marriage faces “storms.” Sometimes the storms come from outside of the marriage – car accident, AC goes out, etc. Sometimes the storm is actually inside – one of us has an attitude, makes a choice, etc. Proverbs acknowledges that storms happen. Proverbs provides perspective on those things. The person who survives, or even avoids, those storms is someone who fears the Lord.

Discussion Questions

Icebreaker: What Bible verse has encouraged you lately?

Have you watched another couple survive a storm that swept into their marriage? What did you notice?

If you’re comfortable with it, share about a storm that swept into your marriage/relationship. (a storm from the outside, or from the inside, up to you)

Proverbs regularly compares the foolish person and the wise person. How would you describe those two people?

If you saw someone who feared the Lord, what would they look like? What qualities would be noticeable on the outside?

How can we respond to conflict with humility and oneness, instead of blame?

The wise person, the storm survivor, is someone who fears the Lord. How can you apply it to your heart and your marriage this week?
