An Understanding Wife

In this grace-filled message, we’ll explore God’s timeless design for wives within the covenant of marriage. Being a Christian spouse isn’t about perfection—it’s about walking in obedience, love, and faithfulness to God while honoring our husbands in a Christlike way. This teaching is an invitation for wives to reflect the bride of Christ in their marriages—not by striving in their own strength, but by leaning on God for understanding and wisdom.

Icebreaker: How long did you date before you got married?

1.  Husbands, Ephesians 5:25 calls husbands to ‘love your wives, just as Christ loved the church and gave himself up for her.’ What does that kind of sacrificial love look like in everyday married life—and where do you feel God challenging you to grow in this area?

2.   Wives, how can submitting to your husband “as unto the Lord” be a strength rather than a weakness in your marriage? When is it difficult for you to submit?

3.   Husbands, Joshua makes a bold declaration to lead his household in serving the Lord. As a husband, what does it look like for you to spiritually lead your home? What challenges have you experienced in that role?
