Four Soils

As Jesus taught, He chose to use stories, or parables.
Parables can be thought of as 'earthly stories with heavenly meaning', or stories that use normal every day things to help us understand extraordinary things about God. Many times as He taught, Jesus said, anyone with ears to hear should listen and understand, or he who has ears, let him hear. Everyone has ears, so what does our theme verse mean? We have ears to hear when we don't know Jesus' parables, but we want to understand them and live them out. Those with 'ears to hear' don't just listen to Jesus' parables, they do what He teaches through them.
