The Church Prays

May 22, 2024    John Eck

As the early church grew, so did the persecution from those who rejected the way. In the 12th chapter of Acts, we find Peter locked up, facing execution, and the church rallying together in fervent prayer for his rescue. God responds to the church's prayer by sending an angel to free Peter. While the church is hard at prayer, they are disrupted by a knock on the door and find, to their surprise, that it is Peter. Prayer is a discipline followers of Jesus tend to put on the back burner, but it should be the most important discipline we embody since it’s our phone line to our heavenly Father. In this week’s message, we will discuss the importance of prayer and how we, as the church, should do it without ceasing.
