Faith Does Not Despair

Worldly hope often includes desires such as a stable job, a loving family, good friends, a big house, and many material possessions. But what happens when life doesn’t go as we wish? We can find ourselves in despair, feeling a complete loss or absence of hope. True hope can only come from faith fully anchored in God. When we examine the life of Joseph, we notice that it was filled with difficult trials and despair. He was sold into slavery by his own family and was betrayed and imprisoned by his master's wife. Despite these challenges, Joseph’s faith remained steadfast. Even when he learned that his people would be enslaved in the future, he looked ahead with confidence, trusting that God was faithful to His promises. This week, we will explore the life of Joseph and learn that true faith does not lead to despair; instead, it wholeheartedly trusts in God's plans.
