What is Faith?

Last week, we discussed the need for a new heart. This week, we will explore how the condition of our heart is directly related to our faith. When we recognize the evidence of God's existence surrounding us (Hebrews 11:3), acknowledge that He is perfect and true, and understand that our hearts are corrupted by sin, we come to realize our need for His rescue. This recognition leads us to place our faith in the only one who can provide it: Jesus.

Faith begins when our hearts are fully surrendered to Him alone as the substance of our blessed hope. Faith is the foundation for it says in Hebrews 11:6 ”And without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is and that He is a rewarder of those who seek Him.”
