Adults Seek the Will of God

The Bible says that we are God’s masterpiece, created to do the good things He planned for us long ago. God’s will for humanity is that we know Him and make Him known in every aspect of our lives. Yet, we often become discontent with God’s will and try to take control, attempting to write our own future according to our selfish desires. James teaches that maturity as a follower of Jesus means making our plans in submission to God’s will. To make plans apart from God is to act foolishly and arrogantly, focusing only on temporary, earthly things. This week, we’ll explore what God’s general will is for everyone and how, as followers of Jesus, we can discern His will—especially when life feels uncertain.
