Knit Together

Paul expresses his desire for believers to be knit together in love and firmly rooted in Christ. God designed our marriages to be anchored in Christ rather than shaken by shifting emotions or circumstances. Just as roots give a tree stability and nourishment, being rooted in Christ anchors a marriage with unshakable strength and fills it with sustaining peace.

1.    Read Colossians 2:2. How is being knit together different from simply living together?

2.    Is there anything currently dividing you in your marriage, or that needs to be addressed so you can be more “knit together”?

3.    Read Colossians 2:6-7. What happens to a tree that doesn’t have deep roots? What happens in our relationship with one another when we are not firmly rooted in Christ?
