Put On What Matters
As God’s chosen people, we are called to live set apart, clothing ourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness, and patience toward one another. Christ-centered marriages are not built on feelings, but on the daily choice to reflect Jesus through forgiveness, love, and gratitude. As we allow the peace of Christ to rule in our hearts and His Word to dwell richly in our homes, it transforms the way we love, forgive, and serve each other.

Discussion Questions:
Icebreaker: Describe your first date in one word.
1. Have someone read Colossians 3:12. Which of these qualities do you find easiest to show your spouse? Which quality to do you find hardest?
2. Why do you think forgiveness can sometimes be hardest with the people we are closest to? What is the difference between forgiveness and reconciliation? (Answer: Forgiveness is a command based on God’s grace, acting to cancel a debt and release the sinner, even if they do not ask for it. Reconciliation is the restoration of harmony and requires repentance, broken trust to be rebuilt over time, and a change in behavior.)
3. What situations most often threaten your sense of peace? Read Colossians 3:15. How does gratitude help cultivate peace in our hearts and in our marriage?
4. Colossians 3:16 says we should “let the Word of Christ dwell in you richly, teaching and admonishing one another in all wisdom…” How can we encourage one another spiritually without sounding critical or preachy? Share examples from your marriage.
