The Sins of Saul
This week we will learn about the early kingship of Saul, the king demanded by the people. God chose Saul but He did not choose Saul because he would make the best king, He gave the Israelites what they asked for to teach them that an earthly king would fail them. We will look at the sins of Saul and how they would not only affect him as king, but also affect the people for years to come.
1. Waiting on the Lord is never easy. Share something you had to wait for that was worth it in the end? Could you see how God was working through it?
2. What "little" sins do you tend to overlook in your life, something you think maybe isn't a big deal?
3. What does it look like to the world when we "practice sin" even if it doesn't seem like a big deal?
4. As you walk through life, there are many temptations. What are some things you do to keep your mind focused on God each week?
5. While, if you have believed in Jesus, you have been forgiven of sin eternally, there are still earthly consequences for sin. What do you think God's purpose is in that?
