God is Just

Nov 12, 2025    Michael Fitzgerald

If you or someone you know has been wronged, you naturally expect justice to be served. When those responsible for upholding the law fail to deliver fair judgments, they are neglecting their duty. This desire for justice is instilled in us by God. God is just—He is righteous, holy, and perfect, and must uphold His standards. If He were to ignore punishment for breaking His commandments, He would be unjust. We have all sinned and fallen short of God's glory, which makes us deserving of death. Justice demands punishment, and God must deliver it. However, He provides a way to escape that punishment through a substitute sacrifice: His Son, Jesus. Jesus took the punishment we deserve, allowing those who accept Him by faith to be made right with God. This week, we will focus on God's justice and how He satisfied His wrath so that we can be free from it. We will also discuss how we can embody this attribute in our lives by upholding His righteous standards.
