SCRIPTURE
Matthew 4:4 | But Jesus told him, No! The Scriptures say, People do not live by bread alone, but by every word that comes from the mouth of God.

John 1:1-5 | In the beginning the Word already existed. The Word was with God, and the Word was God. He existed in the beginning with God. God created everything through him, and nothing was created except through him. The Word gave life to everything that was created, and his life brought light to everyone. The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness can never extinguish it.

John 1:14 | So the Word became human and made his home among us. He was full of unfailing love and faithfulness. And we have seen his glory, the glory of the Fathers one and only Son.

Colossians 3:10 | Put on your new nature, and be renewed as you learn to know your Creator and become like him.

DISCUSSION

1. The Word in John 1 is Jesus. If The Word (Jesus) was in the beginning, what was He part of in Genesis 1?
2. Do you ever think of Jesus as only part of the New Testament? What does John 1 show us about Jesus and Gods plan since the beginning?
3. According to John 1:5 and 1:14, what can we learn from looking at the life of Jesus through Gods Word?
4. How is the example of Jesus important for His followers? What did Jesus do that you should also be doing as a doer?
5. Since you became a follower of Jesus, have you become more like Him? In what ways? If not, why?
