SATAN - Resisting him

James 4:7 | So humble yourselves before God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.
  1. James promises that Satan will flee from or leave you if you do what?
  2. To resist means to stay strong against or to fight off influence. What does resisting Satan look like?
  3. Staying strong when you are tempted usually takes a plan. What are some ways you are often tempted? What plan do you have for when temptation comes? [What do you do? Who do you tell? Where do you go? What do you think about?]

Ephesians 6:10-12 | A final word: Be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power. Put on all of God’s armor so that you will be able to stand firm against all strategies of the devil. For we are not fighting against flesh-and-blood enemies, but against evil rulers and authorities of the unseen world, against mighty powers in this dark world, and against evil spirits in the heavenly places.

  1. As you resist the devil, who’s power keeps you strong?
  2. Who’s power is stronger - God’s or Satan’s? What does this mean when you’re facing temptation or Satan’s attack?
  3. How can we put on God’s armor? For more information about the armor, keep reading in Ephesians 6!
