MAN - Entrusted with God's creation

Genesis 1:28 | Then God blessed them and said, “Be fruitful and multiply. Fill the earth and govern it. Reign over the fish in the sea, the birds in the sky, and all the animals that scurry along the ground.”

  1. God told man to govern or rule over the earth and all that is in it. How do you care for God’s creation? What could you do better?
  2. How can you care for God’s creation in a way that brings God glory (and doesn’t just promote ‘being green’ or ‘sustainable’)?

Psalm 8:3-8 | When I look at the night sky and see the work of your fingers— the moon and the stars you set in place— what are mere mortals that you should think about them, human beings that you should care for them? Yet you made them only a little lower than God and crowned them with glory and honor. You gave them charge of everything you made, putting all things under their authority— the flocks and the herds and all the wild animals, the birds in the sky, the fish in the sea, and everything that swims the ocean currents.

  1. What is your most prized or valuable possession (thing you own)? If you needed someone to take care for it or to keep it safe for you, who would you choose? Why?
  2. With this in mind, how does it feel to know that God chose you to care for something important to Him?
  3. What are some things about God’s creation that are amazing to you?
  4. Even with those things created, God decided that the world needed you. Do you believe God has you here on earth for a reason? Why or why not?
