GOD: Is perfect

SCRIPTURES
1 John 1:5b |
God is light, and there is no darkness in him at all.

Habakuk 1:12a & 13a | O Lord my God, my Holy One, you who are eternal… But you are pure and cannot stand the sight of evil.

Deuteronomy 32:4 | He is the Rock; his deeds are perfect. Everything he does is just and fair. He is a faithful God who does no wrong; how just and upright he is!

Revelation 21:22-27 | I saw no temple in the city, for the Lord God Almighty and the Lamb are its temple. And the city has no need of sun or moon, for the glory of God illuminates the city, and the Lamb is its light. The nations will walk in its light, and the kings of the world will enter the city in all their glory. Its gates will never be closed at the end of day because there is no night there. And all the nations will bring their glory and honor into the city. Nothing evil will be allowed to enter, nor anyone who practices shameful idolatry and dishonesty—but only those whose names are written in the Lamb’s Book of Life.

DISCUSSION
  1. What characteristic of God do we see in today’s readings?
  2. God is perfect. Why is this important to His followers?
  3. Revelation tells us that nothing evil (or not perfect) can be in Heaven- God’s home. How can God’s followers be promised Heaven even though we can never be perfect?
  4. Since God is perfect, what can we also be sure of about His Word? His Promises? His Plans?
