RESURRECTION - Bore our sin

Isaiah 53:4-6 | Yet it was our weaknesses he carried; it was our sorrows that weighed him down. And we thought his troubles were a punishment from God, a punishment for his own sins! But he was pierced for our rebellion, crushed for our sins. He was beaten so we could be whole. He was whipped so we could be healed. All of us, like sheep, have strayed away. We have left God’s paths to follow our own. Yet the Lord laid on him the sins of us all.

2. What explanation does Isaiah give for the Savior’s undeserved death?

Gal 1:4 | Jesus gave his life for our sins, just as God our Father planned, in order to rescue us from this evil world in which we live.

3, When did God begin planning salvation through Jesus?

2 Cor. 5:21  | For God made Christ, who never sinned, to be the offering for our sin, so that we could be made right with God through Christ.

4. As planned and foretold, Jesus bore our sins on the cross. Why was this needed for us to be able to be made right with God?

1 John 2:2 | He himself is the sacrifice that atones for our sins—and not only our sins but the sins of all the world.

5. When Jesus died on the cross, did He pay for the sins of just those who would believe in Him or for the whole world, even those who would reject Him? Why?
