DEATH - Buried with the rich

Isaiah 53:9 | He had done no wrong and had never deceived anyone. But he was buried like a criminal; he was put in a rich man’s grave.

Matthew 27:57-60 | As evening approached, Joseph, a rich man from Arimathea who had become a follower of Jesus, went to Pilate and asked for Jesus’ body. And Pilate issued an order to release it to him. Joseph took the body and wrapped it in a long sheet of clean linen cloth. He placed it in his own new tomb, which had been carved out of the rock. Then he rolled a great stone across the entrance and left.

1. What details of Jesus’ burial are foretold in Isaiah? How are they fulfilled in Matthew 27? 
2. Why was the stone rolled in front of Jesus’ tomb and His tomb sealed? (Read Matthew 27:62-65 to find out!)
3. What do you think the three days that Jesus was buried were like for His followers? 
4. Knowing that Jesus’ tomb was sealed and guarded, what explanation is left for His body to be missing when His followers show up at the tomb 3 days later?
5. Why are these details about the Savior’s death/burial important? How important is Jesus’ resurrection to the Gospel? Why?
