PRAYER - PRAISE - Remembering God is in control

SCRIPTURE
James 4:8 | Come close to God, and God will come close to you. Wash your hands, you sinners; purify your hearts, for your loyalty is divided between God and the world.

1 Thessalonians 5:16-18 | Always be joyful. Never stop praying. Be thankful in all circumstances, for this is God’s will for you who belong to Christ Jesus.

 Philippians 4:6-7 | Do not worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank him for all he has done. Then you will experience Gods peace, which exceeds anything we can understand. His peace will guard your hearts and minds as you live in Christ Jesus.

1 Peter 5:7 | Give all your worries and cares to God, for he cares about you.

DISCUSSION

1. How can praising or thanking God for who He is and what He has done help you when you are worried, afraid, or unsure?
2. Do you believe that God cares about you? Why or why not?
3. Since God cares for you, what do you think He wants to hear about when you pray? How often does He want to hear from you?
4. 1 Thessalonians says to never stop praying. What does a nonstop mindset of prayer look like? Does prayer look like this in your life? 
5. How can practice or discipline strengthen your prayer life? Where will you start?
