WORSHIP - Can only come from a pure heart

SCRIPTURE
Romans 12:1 | And so, dear brothers and sisters, I plead with you to give your bodies to God because of all he has done for you. Let them be a living and holy sacrifice - the kind he will find acceptable. This is truly the way to worship him.

Psalm 24:1-6 | The earth is the LORDs, and everything in it The world and all its people belong to him. For he laid the earths foundation on the seas and built it on the ocean depths. Who may climb the mountain of the LORD? Who may stand in his holy place? Only those whose hands and hearts are pure, who do not worship idols and never tell lies. They will receive the LORDs blessing and have a right relationship with God their savior. Such people may seek you and worship in your presence, O God of Jacob.

Isaiah 29:13 | And so the Lord says, These people say they are mine. They honor me with their lips, but their hearts are far from me. And their worship of me is nothing but man-made rules learned by rote.


DISCUSSION

1. Psalm 150 explains that only those who have a right relationship with God can worship Him. What does it take to have a right relationship with God?
2. What are some things that hurt our relationship with God?
3. Do you think you can purely worship God in the way Psalm 150 says if you have sin in your life? Are you ever guilty of trying to worship God without truly repenting of your sin?
4. Read Isaiah 29:13. Thinking about this verse, what does heartless worship of God look like?
5. Are you ever guilty of worshipping God heartlessly - just going through the motions and not laying down your heart before Him? How will you change this?
