SERVING - Points others to Jesus

SCRIPTURE

Ephesians 2:10 |
For we are Gods masterpiece. He has created us anew in Christ Jesus, so we can do the good things he planned for us long ago.

Matthew 5:13-16 | You are the salt of the earth. But what good is salt if it has lost its flavor? Can you make it salty again? It will be thrown out and trampled underfoot as worthless. You are the light of the world - like a city on a hilltop that cannot be hidden. No one lights a lamp and then puts it under a basket. Instead, a lamp is placed on a stand, where it gives light to everyone in the house. In the same way, let your good deeds shine out for all to see, so that everyone will praise your heavenly Father.

1 Peter 2:9-12 | But you are not like that, for you are a chosen people. You are royal priests, a holy nation, Gods very own possession. As a result, you can show others the goodness of God, for he called you out of the darkness into his wonderful light. Once you had no identity as a people; now you are Gods people. Once you received no mercy; now you have received Gods mercy. Dear friends, I warn you as temporary residents and foreigners to keep away from worldly desires that wage war against your very souls. Be careful to live properly among your unbelieving neighbors. Then even if they accuse you of doing wrong, they will see your honorable behavior, and they will give honor to God when he judges the world.

DISCUSSION
  1. What should always be the purpose of our service?
  2. When you serve, in what ways do you purposely point to Jesus?
  3. When you serve, do you ever struggle to intentionally share Jesus? Why?
  4. When you serve, do you ever take some of Gods glory for yourself? In what ways?
  5. How can you serve today (tomorrow, this week, next month, etc.) in. A way that points others to Jesus?
